U.S. Wii Fit priced at $90

It’s official. Wii Fit, which includes the Wii balance board and the Wii Fit game, will launch on May 19th in the states for $89.99! You gotta hand it to Nintendo though. This thing is going to sell like hotcakes and then result in even more of a demand for the Wii. They really have something going here.

I’m sure even Wii Fit will be difficult to find up until at least the holiday season. I won’t fall for it though, Nintendo. I know that thing is just going to end up underneath my bed after playing with it for a month at most. I already have enough trouble putting away my controllers for the Gamecube, Wii and 360, Karaoke Revolution/Rock Band mics, Guitar Hero/Rock Band Guitars and the drum set. Thanks, but no thanks.

… I’m sure in May, I’ll be posting again, complaining about finding a place to put my new Wii balance board.

Wii Fit Sells 1 Million in Japan

Aren’t Japanese people already fit enough? Or at least already super-skinny? Maybe I just think all Asians in Asia are born and will stay small and skinny. It’s the whole culture over there. Either way, it doesn’t matter, because Wii Fit is a hit with the Japanese. Since its December 1, 2007 release, the Wii Fit bundle has sold over 1 Million copies. That’s a whole lot of “fit” people.

Wii Fit still does not have a tentative release date here in the U.S. That kind of sucks. Now I’m going to end up spending the $80 on some other fitness program that I find on TV like all the other Americans.

What gives, Nintendo? Who needs Wii Fit more? Obese America or Skinny Asia?

Wii Fit Looks Fun!

Admit it, when you found out that Nintendo was going to come out with a fitness game for the Wii, you were probably thinking about how lame it was going to be and that only housewives would be buying it. You probably also thought the balance board was lame and that it would just end up under your bed like a weight scale.

No? Well, I did, until I saw this video tour of the games and how they work. Just start watching it. I’ll wait…

Done yet? Doesn’t it look fun? The soccer ball one is bleh though but I’m digging the tight rope, the boxing and weird enough as it is, the jogging. It’s pretty cool that you can jog with another player and that you just throw the wii-mote in your pocket. I also like that other Mii’s on your machine will show up along the course.

The guy in the video, Josh, promises to have another segment to his tour that will include more games from WiiFit. I’m hoping it’s not going to be filled with lame stuff like Yoga (unless the word “fire” comes after it).
