The Panzer Dragoon Story

Gamasutra has a crazy (and lengthy) article about the history of the Panzer Dragoon series. This short, but solid series of games still means a lot to me. I remember playing the first Panzer Dragoon on my Sega Saturn and thinking about how awesome the game looked. It was also the first game that I saw my dad play. He would only play through the first level and hand the controller off to me but just the fact that he would play was really cool to me.
I remember really wanting to pick up the sequel, Panzer Dragoon Zwei but I was so young back then that I only got games when it was either my birthday, my brother’s birthday or Christmas. Other games distracted me from ever getting it.
Then there is Panzer Dragoon Saga. My brother bought it from a local games store that’s not there anymore (Games Etc. for those of you that remember). I remember going with him and seeing multiple copies of it. Only 30,000 copies were made. If only we had known that the game would sell nowadays for about $150-200 a copy on eBay…
Enough of my reminiscing, go read the article!
